For those of you who might not be aware, we have an OUTSTANDING DX
Cluster in Midland/Odessa. You can use it to post REAL TIME DX
information to local users via the command: ann <your message> It will
then post the message to ONLY local users.

You can access the Cluster for FREE on either 144.930 packet (I've been
logged on continuously for YEARS) or via Internet Telnet at
wf5e.no-ip.com. Most logging programs enable telnet access on a
continuous basis by setting the "keep alive" timer feature to five
minutes.

It is all free, doesn't take any head room from your PC and can run
virtually continuously in the background. I STAY logged on to stay up to
the minute on DX info and local DX chat. Les is connected to the
national DX Cluster network and at any given time, there are a couple of
hundred users logged on throughout the USA (and many other countries).
It has online Callbook, real time WWV Solar conditions, and supports
spots on all modes from 160 through EME. OH, and if you don't want to
know what is on 1296 lower sideband, you can Filter the spots you get.
It is very flexible. AND, very user friendly.

If you do not have a logging program or need a program that enables the
Telnet access, may I recommend VE7CC's FREE program "AR User." It works
very well; I take it with me while travelling and can log onto the WF5E
Cluster from my Hotel Room, office or virtually anywhere I can access the
Internet from my XP laptop.

You can download VE7CC's AR USER at: http://ve7cc.net

Then scroll down through the very clear set up instructions about
two-thirds the way down to the download link:

<Download AR User Full Version (ver 2.3205)> It is a hot link to the
download POP. It is also very stable.

Follow the setup instructions and it is very easy to set up on WIN 95 to
WIN XP machines.

Again, we are at wf5e.no-ip.com.

Try it. You will DEFINITELY like it if you are into DXing. You will
also like the REAL TIME Chat feature.

OH, and again, mine runs full time in the background. Has for years.

73 es gud DX
