Elecraft K4 Raffle Winner!

Congratulations to Michael Van Norman, K6VN, from Santa Clarita, CA, for being the winner of the Elecraft K4 raffle! The drawing was held March 21, 2020, at the MARC clubhouse. Midland Police Chief Seth Herman drew the winning ticket. Thanks to everyone who participated!

Hamfest Postponed

Due to the COVID-19 coronavirus scare and the unpredictability of venue management and public officials, we are postponing the St. Patrick’s Day Hamfest and West Texas Section Convention scheduled for March 21, 2020. We are exploring the options to host the event this summer in either June or July. The new date will be announced as soon as it is confirmed.

All pre-registration, registration and extra chance tickets for door prizes will be honored during the rescheduled event as well as table reservations for the swap meet.

The Elecraft K4 raffle drawing will still be held March 21.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Mitchell Martin, WA5ZAP, SK

It is with a heavy heart, we report the passing of Mitchell Martin, WA5ZAP, the evening of January 31. Mitchell was a integral member of the Midland Amateur Radio Club serving as the Club Secretary, the Volunteer Examiner Coordinator for license testing and the dedicated member who picked up the doughnuts and opened the clubhouse for Saturday morning coffee. He held an Amateur Extra Class License and had served 18 years as Club Secretary.

Mitchell will be greatly missed.
